In Colombia there are presently five million people who have been forced to leave their homes, trades and families. They are sojourners, forced to live on the move, journeying and searching for a new life. We are in a unique position in the United States to step in and help change this statistic. The Sojourners Fund is the first way that Give Us Names plans to address this issue.

The Sojourners Fund is a monthly recurring donation program. Give Us Names will use the money raised through the fund to do several things, all of which are necessary to see the crisis of displacement in Colombia come to an end:

  • You will fund rural programs in Colombia that help farmers who have been displaced get back onto new land, where they can live productive and healthy lives.
  • You will fund our efforts to raise awareness about the causes of displacement in Colombia as well as our programs that resist those causes.
  • You will fund all the other little things that an organization needs to pay for in order to run smoothly. These are the staples, printer cartrages, pens and pencils that we need in order to run things well.
  •

Give Us Names asks you to join the journey.  By becoming a Sojourner, you will support projects that provide displaced families with homes, work, community, and stability.  Your contribution will also help fund an awareness campaign, allowing Give Us Names to journey from city to city, state to state, sharing the stories of displacement, and giving names and faces to the millions of sojourners in Colombia.

Join Give Us Names as we journey with and for the displaced people of Colombia.
